Hello there! I’m April and I’m a content developer with over 10 years of experience in publishing and writing for print, digital and social media. I’ve written for Children’s Festival by Gardens by the Bay, Wine & Dine Singapore, NUSS The Graduate, Ascendas, CapitaLand, FLEXA Singapore, Audi, Mitsubishi, Citroën, Electrolux, SPRINGnews, Procter & Gamble, SingPost, Simmons, Sengkang General Hospital, Social Development Network (SDN), Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA), Singapore Tourism Board (STB), and Ministry of Communications and Information (MCI).
I started my career in publishing as a freelance intern writer for Pets Magazine Singapore. I got on board full-time right after graduation and ended my tenure there as deputy editor.
I joined the Ate Group‘s publishing arm to write and manage content development projects including publications like The Miele Guide; the National Heritage Board’s Singapore Memories: A Gastronomic Literary Series, and Savour Chinatown: Stories, Memories and Recipes.
I took a break from content development to pursue my passion for fashion and joined a homegrown multi-label retail distribution company. There, I assisted in business development and retail operations for brands like Irregular Choice UK and Les Floralies from New Zealand. Inspired by my entrepreneur boss, I partnered with two other pet lovers and started a distribution company retailing eco-friendly and sustainable pet products from the US.
I also served as a marketing and public relations consultant for new-to-market f&b brands The Butchers Club Singapore from Hong Kong and Yellow Cab Pizza Co. from the Philippines where I held media sessions and hosted marketing campaigns and events.
